We are standing on the terrace of my Casa Amarija. The sky is clear, and God’s wonderful creation is looming up in clarity before us – the Cotacachi Volcano. Let me zoom in a bit.
And even closer……………..
I took these picture in short succession one after the other and it kinda reminds me of our troubles and trials. Go back and check out the clouds. In a few seconds they floated away from the volcano. Our trials eventually pass and we are left with a clear view of what God has in mind for us. Did He not say, “When you pass through the waters . . . and through the rivers . . . through the fires..?” (Isaiah 43:2) “Through” is a key word here, and as “clouds” of waters, rivers and fires descend upon us, God will blow them all away, and we will be facing a new realm in our Christian lives.
For the next couple of days we are going to casually explore everyday life in Cotacachi. Let’s see a little of what happens here in Cotacachi.
There are many parks dotted throughout the town, and beautifully created statues are seen everywhere – beautiful artwork. In this instance, the statues depict the two important aspects of Cotacachi – it is famous for leather goods and music.
Cotacachi is not a sleepy” down. It is alive and vibrant most of the time. Promotions such as these are common. A new “Farmacia” opened down the road from where I live.
Have you ever seen this fruit before? Yes, you have. You can eat it or drink it. It’s delicious. Shall I tell you? No, I don’t think I should. Search the internet, or come to Ecuador and find out for yourself. I must admit that your similar fruit looks so drab and uninteresting.
Check this pic out carefully. What do you see? Well, is that not one of the most novel ideas that you could have? If you have a balcony . . . turn it into a bird cage. Three benefits – (1) you can observe the birds from your lounge; (2) people outside can also enjoy them, and (3) the birds enjoy sunshine and protection. I’m not too sure if the birds escape into the house when they are being fed and their cage cleaned.
Roses grow in abundance here in Cotacachi – the most beautiful roses. The colors are exquisite. $2 will secure you 24 roses. There is a most beautiful rose here – a gorgeous almost luminous green and delicately tinged with pink along the edges of the petals. Have you spotted the bench on the sidewalk?
You will find benches for people to rest or just to sit and enjoy the surroundings. It’s enchanting.
Most nights the town is quiet. This pic was taken around 8pm on a week night. The little night shadow is the most gorgeous homeless, dog imaginable. He is so lovable and adorable.
Mist, to me, is magical. I cannot describe the mood that it sets me in – it is absolutely beautiful.
Who created the mist? Who else? Our Maker made the mist. “. . . a mist went up from the earth”. (Genesis 2:6)
