Burdened? Who really Cares?

Are you burdened today? Overburdened? Listen to the words of the Greatest Burden-Bearer:

“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28)

“Come” – Someone is calling you – you who are so overburdened in some way or other.

“To Me” – Me? Who is this One who says to us, “Come to Me”. It’s JESUS of course!

“All you” – All, not only some? Jesus is not looking over crowds of overburdened people, He is focusing on one person – “YOU!” – yes, YOU!

“Who labor and are heavy laden”. Does the photograph above not remind you of how many burdens we bear – alone? Jesus, is watching and He does not just stand by and leave you to continue on your own. Look – He is beckoning to you, precious one. You see, He cares and He is calling to you today. Come on, take your burdens to Him. He made this offer even before your burdens weighed down so heavily on you.

“I will give you rest”. Put down your burden at Jesus’ feet today. That’s right – cast it down. No, do not take it with you again – make the exchange! Can you see Jesus holding out His rest to you right now? Hand your burden over to Jesus, accept His rest, and the “joy of the Lord will be your strength”.

“. . . .Casting all your cares upon Him, for He cares for you>’ (1 Peter 5:7)
